LFA Architects joined a French designer and a French-American contractor to open Kenzo at 805 Madison Avenue. This is the American flagship store of the Japanese designer, who is based in Paris.
This 3,000 sf space required extensive renovation to transform it into one of the first glittery jewels to open on Madison Avenue in 1995. The store has an oak floor at ground level, and sheet vinyl flooring upstairs in the men's department.
A motorized red awning, hidden by the second floor entablature, shades the 20' high storefront, protecting merchandise from UV rays and reducing reflection.
